Sweet Ken, needs a 'Cute' warning perhaps? :D

Good position within the frame, but it's the look and the eyes that will no doubt capture the comments. Nicely done.

Perhaps you could you not have dropped the ISO to 400 or less though, based on the SS, or was there a reason? Also is this FF, or cropped?

    Cheers

Ken - definitely needs a cuteness warning! Like the comp, the detail, the capture mid-stride and love those eyes. Looks like the cub is checking your vehicle out as much as you all are checking the cub out. Well done.

Nice head turn to work with the off-angled (but very soft light). Cute as can be. Scraggly habitat is less than ideal but a wonderful subject makes up for that.

Here kitty, kitty! Just darling with his suspicious little stare. I have a general question. Is there anything one might do when the BG is full of busy lines and highlights and yet the subject in half lit and half shaded?

    Steve,

This is about 50% of the overall image most cropping was on each side to convert portrait to vertical. Hand holding a 500mm is getting harder everyday I usually try to form a support with my elbows on my knees , the bar positions in this vehicle were not useful. I keep the ISO up to give me a higher shutter speed, certainly with the MkIv I have found 800 to give little noticable noise except in the sky.

    Artie,

The scraggly background is very common particularly in the lower rainfall areas, I was just happy that the grass was not overly long.

    Nancy,

I would like to know if this can be overcome, as well.

nice curious pose in good light Ken...this is a good POV considering the position from a game-drive vehicle.
