    Marabou Stork on tree - Chobe river, Botswana

    This is the colour as seen. Removed a few small bushes bottom right and left. Sharpened in LR3

    Canon 40D, 300 f4 + 1.4TC, f5.6 @ 1/250s, ISO 200, +2/3EV, AP, Pattern Metering

    Hello, Michael. I think this image works better with a vertical canvas. Besides, I see spots near the branches, like you've deleted something.

    Hugo, thanks for telling me about the spots. Not sure how that happened - I must have loaded an intermediate file. I have updated the photo with the correct version. I hope it is a bit better. I'm not sure about a vertical canvas. It makes the whole thing very centered. I'll have a look at it again and re-evaluate it.

    Michael,

    IMO key thing with silhouette images is keeping the subject parallel to sensor frame. Since there is no detail in the subject, the outline of the subject is what makes silhouette images interesting.
    Like the colors and interesting tree.

    Hi Michael, good point made by Sid having the subject parallel to the sensor. Im sure you have others of this scene. The colours certainly are lovely.
