    Default Great Tit

Canon 50D Canon 100-400 L IS @400mm ISO 400 -0.67 1/1000 sec f8. I used a reflector to act as fill in I am still playing around with it to get optimum results, the main problem is I am illuminating the bird but not the background, I suspect I need a second reflector.
Another shot taken from my garden hide. Bait was placed just to the right and slightly in front of the bird.

You have a lovely BG here, and I love your perch. Love the action but wish the bird had been facing you a little more to give it more impact. Bird is a little soft as the critical focus appears to be on the perch. You may wish to try a little bit of fill flash instead of a reflector. Looking forward to seeing more.

Jon - I would second Marina's comments. Great background and a colourful and interesting perch. I'd think about inserting a bit more canvas on the bottom so that there is some separation between the edge of the leaf and the edge of the canvas. I'd also consider cleaning up that small white spot that appears between the leaf and the stem.

Cool landing pose but unfortunately both of the folks above are right on with their comments: bird angled away and sharp focus on the berries. I do love the EXP and the BKGR. More room all around would help.

Yes I have to agree about the extra canvas, I really can't see why I didn't fix it before submission - a senior moment I guess!!

Nice moment and good reflexes! My personal rule of thumb for birds in action is 1/2500, I see some movement blur on the feet?
