    Lance,

Is there a reason given for the need for 64 bits? By any reasonable physics, 64 bits is not needed. One would need to collect on the order of 20,000,000,000,000,000,000 photons to need 64 bits. To collect that number of photons with current large pixel DSLRs, one would need to add about 200,000,000,000,000 exposures. At 10 frames per second, that would take 633,762 years, running 24/7 and no time off for holidays.;) And that is to make just one photo! That is for 64-bit integer processing. It gets larger if one goes floating point.

Hi Roger - this is so that it works with Photoshop CC5 which can run in 64Bit - Non 64BIT operating systems have a 3.5gb RAM limit - many of todays mainboards support up to 24GB.

    Lance,

Aaaahhh, so you meant the software runs on a 64-bit operating system, rather than does processing in 64-bit math. I guess I shouldn't post while jet lagged after 2 weeks on the road!:)

I checked out the web site and when I selected the USA as my country, the 64 bit flag went away. Is Nik Software not offering the 64 bit version of Color Efex Pro in the states?
