Default NEC PA271W-BK-SV Monitor Nirvana :)

I bit the bullet after all the issues I've been having with HP monitors and purchased an NEC PA271WBK-SV and let me tell you...the nightmares have gone away :)

From the moment I turned it on, I could see that the screen was uniform and that whites were actually white....with no tinges of cyan, magentas and yellows.

Calibrating it with the proprietary software which uses the on board monitor 14 bit LUT rather than the video card, gives fast and excellent results.

I set up the calibration for D65, 2.2 gamma, 110 cd / m2 and minimum gamma. Average de was just over .4 and max was right around .8.

My eyes and my images are sooooooo happy :)

Thanks for the update on good monitor choices.

I now know of 4 others who have purchased this monitor recently and everyone is really pleased with it.
