    You captured a great pose, Stuart, with both wings down. The wings do look a little smooth, with not much feather detail. Is that what you're referring to by "should have taken 7 0r 8" (i.e., f/7 or f/8)? You could try adding in some grain to the wings to simulate detail (I have seen that technique described, but only tried in once with admittedly questionable results).

    Stuart,

    Nice shot and I like the full down wing position. Did you run NR over the whole image? Just wondering, because the same as John I find some detail lacking and even the head (but not eye) a little soft.
