    I shot this in the morning at low tide about 3 weeks ago.
    D300s 600 VR with 1.4 tc
    1/500 at 6.3 (auto) iso 200

    Nice clean image. Good low angle and the raised foot adds some interest to an otherwise standard portrait. A good look at the plumage in transition to its non-breeding coat.

    Lovely light and pose. This BG works with this bird. What a difference from seeing them in breeding plumage. I saw a number of them this summer but they were much more skiddish than in past years.
