    Default Lava Gulls

Pair of lava gulls, captured aboard the Beluga on a trip to the Galapagos with Artie. The head angle of the foreground gull isn't quite right, and the background gull is obviously OOF. Still, I'm intrigued by the interaction between the two gulls. What was going on? Does it work for you, or not? All C&C appreciated!

    Mike:

Well exposed, soft looking background. Agree with your self critique. To my eye, the birds aren't obviously interacting with each other, not looking directly at each other, so I find the story telling less compelling. Was there another bird off to the right?

    cheers

Your own comments and Randy's are quite right, but the overall shot works for me. I like the overall colours and the bg gull.

I do find this picture interesting. The BG is lovely and the open beak on the rear bird tells a story. Obviously, he/she is being ignored.

I think I might try a different crop if you can. I would crop off the left and add on the right. Just a thought.

Thanks to each for your posts. And thanks to Marina for the cropping suggestion. I'm going to give it a try!
