    Default Female Mallard take off.

    7D, f/8, iso 500, 1/1000, 500mm, cropped.

    Working on my action images. Shot this female mallard about 2 weeks ago at a local sanctuary. I am thinking the right wing is rather hot, but wanted to share it anyways.:)

    Thanks for looking and any advice is appreciated.

    Should have bumped the shutter speed up a bit.

    Very nice image I agree with the slightly overexposed wing. Maybe more space to the left would even improve the image.

    Great sense of explosion out of the water here. Love the head shadow on far wing.
    I think the whites on the back wing probably aren't blown, but there isn't a lot of detail showing.

    I did a selection on the wing, multiply blend mode at about 60% on the mask, and sharpened the head and near wing a bit. You of course can do a better job on the raw file, but I think the far wing now shows a bit more texture.

    Whites are a little bright but don't appear to be blown. You really captured the essence of a mallard blast off Gary. The bird feels a little tight all around to me.
