    A different image of the great spotted woodpecker. As we had some ice on the trees and branches, he rubbed his head on the ice, trying to get some ice in the beak. I did never see such behaviour before.

    I'm guessing he was thirsty :)

    Well exposed and composed, wish the perch was not so dominant.

    Hi Fabs,
    do you think, it would be better to crop the image, so you can' t see so much of the branch?

    Nice pose and details. I wish for some fill flash and the BG seems to have some cloning artifacts.
