    Default ghosts of etosha

    Attached Images Attached Images

    D3 600mm lens 1/3000 f4 iso 400....
    wimberely head, car bracket.
basically full frame, cropped a little from left and top....

These bulls would monopolise a near by waterhole for hours, it was fascinating behaviour, afterwards they would all head off individually into nearby bushes... but one day they all headed off to a a veld which I could get close enough to get a nice series of shots of them together.

Not to shabby Peter, LOL. Simply stunning!!!

I think perhaps this is one of the best images I have seen this year in this section, nothing more to say.

This capture is over the top. Love pictures that are out of the ordinary. This one depicts behavior and environment. Love the way the elephant in the rear works so well in the frame.

It is simply amazing what these animals endure. Well seen and captured!

Killer image Peter. Great timing and perfect shutter speed and dust flow looks fantastic. OOF elephant in the back is working great too.
    Brilliant image.

    Peter,

Etosha is a great place, usually people complain about the harsh light:D This is a perfect expression of the wonders of Etosha.

Was this at or near to Nebrowni?

Peter, I just like how the ellie is so much in the open, and well timed to capture the flying dust. I also like the darker sky.

    Hi Steve
Superlatives cannot do this image enough justice. Love the dust on and off the elephant;the OOF one in the BG and the eye level perspective!

    hello Peter

excellent image - i noticed you used the 600 mm - how far away were you? I assume you were in a vehicle - what support were you using

Powerful image, Peter. The drifting dust and details in the skin take this one over the top. Beautifully done. Just curious, do you know if the short tusks are natural or the result of anti-poaching efforts?

    Peter,
The perspective is phenomenal. The title is apt. The colours, the texture and the mood conveyed is great. A fantastic image. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Peter, what a shot. I love the mood, the harshness and the motion created by the dust, and the approaching elephant in the BG you captured in this image. Great job

I came to this one after seeing #2. Not sure why but for me #2 is far more powerful and captivating.... Perhaps because of the solitary nature of #2....
