    1/1000 f6.7 ISO200 little crop HH.
    Took it under cover lying on the ground.

    Excellent shooting angle for this capture, nice catch for bird too.

    Really gives a sense of this birds habitat. I might consider some subtle lowering of the luminosity in the foreground reeds/grasses to reduce their impact a bit.

    Sharp and well exposed.

    Great capture. Greater DOP would have been great. Cropped a little tight, given more room, the picture could have been much stronger.

    What makes this picture work is that sharp eye and the intense look at the bird. The catch is a huge plus, esp the way he has speared it. I agree that a larger crop may be worth a try.
