One of those magical nights when everything clicked. A large pool formed from a full moon high tide, there was no wind, and the juvenile skimmers were taking the opportunity to practice their skimming skills.

Beautiful photograph! You can't even tell where the air ends and the water begins. A very nice to moment to have captured, congratulations!

Thank you for commenting on my image, Chantelle. This was a temporary puddle that formed in a large depression on the beach at high tide, so it's all water. I made my tripod just to the height where I was getting a good reflection and kept it simple. By the time the evening ended, the tide was going out and the puddle had shrunk to almost nothing.

    Hi Grace

You are absolutely right when you call this "magical." I love the fact that you have catchlight, a full reflection and the upward turns at the end of the wings. Then there is also that amazing trail.

    This is a winner!

Sweet, sweet image, Grace. Nary a ripple; perfectly framed skimmer wake; gorgeous light. Frame it! (If you were so inclined you could make it pop just a wee bit by adding a "Soft Light" blending layer at 30-35% opacity; but that gets into the realm of personal preference. Beautiful image just as presented.)

Very neat, love the pano crop and especially the tilt in the bird's pose. Sounds like it was an evening to remember! Only thing for me is that I find the WB a little off - I know there is low light going on but I find it a little yellow/green. in Color Balance I tried adding a bit of red and blue and thought it looked pretty good, but of course I wasn't there to know what it really looked like.

Congrats on a very pretty image!!:)

Daniel, I am so happy! Thank you ... that is exactly why I posted this image, I saw it too and did not know how to fix. This is with 4 pts of red and 9 of blue. Subtle, but makes all the diff. What do you think? And again to everyone, thanks for your comments.

Great capture - reasons given already. What I like best is how the water and air blend together. PP in repost makes it even better. Print one large!

Good repost Grace, and you have nailed this perfectly. I like the angled flight posture, and the reflection puts this over the top.
