This was taken at Eastern State Pen of a prison wing that was closed off to the public.
I had to shoot this through an opening metal gate. It's a 6 exposure HDR. Going down as much as 4 stops to get the detail in the brighter areas. This should be the last one in the series...

    Dave,
I do believe you are getting the hang of it.
Is this the grunge look? Whatever it is, it's pretty dang cool.

Hi James, yes it is the grunge look. You can get more or less of that by playing with the software...

Another beautiful but disturbing image, Dave. Did you play with the contrast at all? For some reason my eyes are wanting a bit more "pop" somewhere to pull my attention - maybe increase it just at the very far end of the hall?

This is very much a thought-provoking image, Dave.

The long lines to the far light are compelling and strong.

Perhaps a very slight CW rotation would perfectly level the axis.

Dave, this is a powerful image and a good example of the grunge look. I do agree with Jules that a bit more something would make it pop, perhaps just a bit of saturation? I like the composition and the feeling of despair conveyed. Well done.

Best in your series yet, I think. Has a nice moody and desolate feeling to it. The bright skylights seem a little out of place compared to the rest of it.

    Hey Dave,
Great title... it describes the reality of this place. I like the mood & feel you created in this image. Good job hdr'ing this one. That hallway was pretty dark and you got good detail in both your s/h areas. I also like your comp and the warm & cool tones.
