nice capture! sharp, good colors, great BG. Looks good as is, but also could have opted for a tighter crop. It's hard for me to tell sometimes but the HA looks to be tilted away from the camera. I'll let the HA police rule on that. Maybe a step or two to the right would have done it and got you a better body position from the side.

agree with the head angle, but for me, the pose and perch makes the image so interesting! I really like the perch. Is this something that you put up for photos? I also like your vertical cropping.
The berries look sharper than the bird's face. perhaps additional contrast in the eye would make it look sharper. or less sharpening on the berries to tone down their highlights which keep drawing my eye.

    Hey Jon,

I'm moving this to the Avian forum. Those guys know their stuff and should be able to give you more detailed critiques than I can.

Unusual framing, and I love it. I think the tension created by framing the berries so far to the left makes the picture. Great detail & color on the berries & the bird looks great.

About the only thing I might change would be to crop out the leaf near the bottom of the stem.

Loved the perch a lot. Liked the crop too. Its a pity that the bird is pointing away with no light on it. Thx for sharing.
