Bill, this is a really nice one. I like the pose a lot and the effect is very nicely done. It feels a little tight on the top and left to me. Did you try putting a little catch light in the eye?

Bill, I love the preening pose and the comp. I agree w/ Kerry -a little tight on top. I think the filter looks good. I was wondering when you would start using PB. I would love to see more of these.:)

I love the presentation, especially the way the substrate looks. Do you have any other frames that show if the bird has a vestigial rear toe? (I am not sure of the ID....)

Thanks Kerry, Denise, Paul, Arthur! Arthur; could very well be a black-bellied plover, as a matter of fact there were some in the flock that had black bellies, but I didn't jump to the conclusion "black-bellied"since breeding plummage of golden plovers is similar. Then again this is not breeding season. My next post is a black bellied plover, as this one most likely was, since it appeared to have a vestigal rear toe (I'm thinking that is an identifier). regards~Bill

Thanks Bill. Yes, BBPL has a vestigial rear toe, AGPL does not. The bill here looks too long and large for AGPL.
