I was a little dissapointed that you couldn't drive in yourself but after going in by bus, I can see why. Roads are gravel and not very wide in places, very remote..

I can just imageine what it would be like, if everyone that wanted to, could drive in...

Someday I'll go back, when I have a few more days to explore Denali (this time I only had one day, but what a day). This image was taken from the window of an idling bus, handheld using my 300 and 1.4 teleconverter. They will stop and let you out but there was a Grizzly about 200 yards from these Dall Sheep so out the window was all I got that day.

I think I did ok for the distance. Lots of things that don't help this image, light angle, softness and shadows.
My first time seeing this species...a sight I'll remember for life.
    Thanks for looking

Very nice, Paul. I love the grouping. Coincidentally, I've been working on my Denali images of June '09. I never got this close to the Dall ... Mine were all specks on the slopes with no good images :( . I'm itching to go back knowing what I've learned about photography since my trip!

    Paul,

Composition is great and I like the subject placement in the frame. Well composed. Too bad light did not co-operate. It would have been a wonderful image in favorable light conditions. Good luck next time.
