    Default Harmless brown stick.

    I found this 3 inch long mantis hunting in the grassland prairie. They can change their color from green to brown depending on the plant they are on. This one matched the marking on the dead stick fairly well. :)

    Jim very nice capture...this insect is a camo artist...like the image as presented but I would have tried to show the whole insect...but thats just me

    Jim, I think this fits the theme well. Another vote for the entire mantis. I like the colors in the BG and the head turn.:)Sharp details!

    I really like the image but I also think that showing the whole insect from a bit further out would make it appear more like a stick i.e. camo'd.
