These little stints are about 4cm shorter than a three-Banded plover, so I was highly pleased to be able to capture this at almost full frame, there was even a time where they came within my minimum focusing distance, and all I could do was sit back and admire. so please don't be shy to crit and give your honest opinion!

Lee, good shot, BG great, nice composition and nice eye contract. Lighting nice. Pity the tail of the bird is in a little shade, it would have been nice for uniform lighten on the bird.

    Nice shot and TFS

Lovely image Lee, I like the low angle and details. Would remove the duller of the 2 catchlights.

Superb details, love the low angle and eye contact. I agree with Michael critique about the tail.

Ah, a beautiful worn juvenile A good EXP with bright whites and I love the low perspective that you chose. There are two or three sharply defined black bits in the much that might go. If you have a classic side view I invite you to post it here.

If this bird showed up at Jamaica Bay in NYC I think that most folks would have a hard time IDing it, i.e., separating it from worn juvenile Semipalmated Sandpiper.

Excellent perspective and fabulous details. I'd love a bit more room below personally. :)

What a sweet little bird. Good point above about the lighting, but doesn't keep this from being a lovely shot. Great low angle, head position, bg and detail. Re Artie's comment, I wouldn't have thought to be looking for one of these guys at JBWR and would certainly have passed it off as a juv. Semipalm Sandpiper, although in this image the head seems a little larger relative to the body. I'll post a recent Semipalm for comparison (who knows, maybe mine is a Stint too??)
