    Default Brown Pelican landing

This guy was so close I barely got him in the frame.

    EOS 1D MK III
    EF 500mm f/4L IS USM
    Tripod + Wimberly II
    1/1250
    f/5.6
    iso 400

ACR and CS5, cropped a very small amount off the right side.

I really like this pose and the wing extension but even though I was trying to keep on the eye with the central sensor it looks like it may have slid past and focused just behind the head. I would also have liked his head turned just slightly toward me.

Hi Joel - love the landing pose - exposure looks good.
Maybe a little more space up front and could remove the trees in the BG if you were so inclined.
    Nice one!!

Nicely captured moment, and what a regal pose of the bird! I love the exposure here.
