    Image taken from my garden hide, I was waiting for a jay to come down for acorns but this GSW came first.

    First of all thanks for sharing this image! lovely WP and composition. Very nice light and killer BG. Great details despite the high ISO.

    Jonathan, I like the comp. and the sharp details. Nice colors too. Seeing the entire tail would have put this over the top but it is still a wonderful image.:)

    I bet you were pretty happy when this woodpecker showed up instead of the jay. Love the colors, comp and sharp details here. Congrats.

    Great woodpecker image Jon! Really nice BG and sharpness. I wish for a little more head turn towards the viewer to really make this over the top but it's beautiful as is!

    Jonathan:

    Excellent display of those powerful feet gripping the tree, prop action of tail.
    I like the slightly curved trunk too, seems to frame the bird nicely. Nicely exposed.
