Here is another picture of the Brown Thrasher from my back yard. I tried the higher ISO speed recommended. I hope the difference shows. I thought the pose and perch were kind of neat.
I agree, but there are a couple of OOF squirrels on the branch behind the bird just to the left. The bird moved to the right a couple of times, but never turned towards me. The perch is natural, by the way it is a palmetto palm on the edge of our yard.
Quite an interesting composition. I don't normally like square formats and I don't normally like the bird in the dead centre of frame like this...but this works for me. It seems the diagonals created by both branches draws the eye from left top corner to the right of frame and back to left bottom corner while taking in the bird on the way. Nice stuff, does anyone feel the same way?:o
