    Default Blue Portuguese man-o-war

Shot a few years ago on Biscayne Bay. the combined reflections from the sky and my friend's canoe gave the water an interesting pattern surrounding the animal. Except for saturating the blue, this was out of the camera. I thought it would fit here though.

Connie, wonderful balance of subject detail and OOF BG and FG. Neat capture of transparent fin! Love the comp, reflections and colors, too. :)

Connie, I added the prefix Weekly Theme to your title as this is certainly eligible for our weekly contest. I love the punch of blue and the water pools. Very cool capture and the details are nice. I wonder if you had moved a bit over at the time of capture to include the one pool and place the subject a bit more to the left but it may have changed the view of the back pool-not sure. Anyway a fantastic image that I wish were mine.:)

Connie, the thumbnail looked like an image from outer space. I like the colors a lot and agree with Denise re placement. I would like to have had the entire water pool in front of the man of war.

Thanks everyone, I agree with the blue puddle behind the man o war, would have liked that separation as well. I did do a bit of cropping, might be able to put some of the left side back in, although I did crop it to offcenter the man o war a bit more. Denise, thanks for adding the prefix.

    Connie,

Greetings. Interesting animal... I have only seen this once in, well, Miami ;). I like the orange - blue color contrast. If it were mine, I would punch up the orange quite a bit with color burn/multiply blends & curves adjustments, bring out the swirling patterns more in the water and call it Iceberg on Mars :) .

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Lovely capture and those colors are amazing. I would probably crop this tighter - from the bottom and right, to add more emphasis to the main subject. Very nice work.

    Nice image and application, Connie.

I like the image and the colors/patterns, but wonder if it shouldn't be offset to the right of center, versus left. It seems unbalanced to me, but ... as they say ... ;) I might crop from the right, if it were mine.

The colors and detail really make this an outstanding image. I agree with the suggestions offered by others.

Thanks everyone, great suggestions. I have a little room to play with the cropping, will give it a try.
