    This image was made early one morning while looking for an endemic Francolin in the Jemma Valley, Ethiopia

    I like the bg, a nice clean shot and sharp focus on the head. The side lighting is problematic and I wish that bird had turned its head more toward you.

    A life bird for all I am sure. Thanks for sharing it. An excellent critique by Connie. With the right head angle, I could have lived with the back light.

    Thanks for your comments!
    To me, this image is about side lighting and I like the way the bird is looking towards the light.
    If I did a repost, it would probably contain more contrast.
    If I was able to make the photograph again, I would use a little fill flash and yes, you guessed it, try and have the head angled slightly towards the viewer.
