    Canon 500mm with 1.4 TC
    Canon 7D

    This heron was photoed in the same session as my last posting. I took your comments into consideration in composing this shot.

    I like this one a lot. It is amazing that you captured a clean view of the eye considering the awkward pose. It is SH, well exposed, and the light is sweet. It does however look as if it is on a post not a bayou... Getting a foot lower would have separated the bird's head a bit more from the single reed nearby.

    Fantastic pose captured w/ a sharp clear eye. Beautiful BG colors and the post adds to this since I never get to see one on a post! Nice job.:)

    Great pose, exposure, lighting and sharpness. I suspect you missed including the area between the legs in a noise reduction layer... :)

    Much better PP this time around Scott (apart from the noise between the legs that Joerg pointed out). Awkward head angle/pose but the eye is so sharp and so vivid that it still makes a striking image. Well done:)
