    This image was created in July at our local Botanical Gardens ,while the aloes were flowering.
    The " extension" of the bird's beak is actually it's tongue.

    Arno. this is simply fabulous image and blacks are exposed very well . did you fired flash ?

    Sweet image Arno. Only wish for a slight more HA towards you.
    I would try to tone down the yellow a bit.

    Great photograph Arno, I love the composition! The stem and flower arranged vertically and the bird's pose work wonderfully together. The bird's coloration is also captured wonderfully, but I agree with Danny, you may want to tone down the yellow just a bit. Great job and thanks for sharing!

    Nice shot...would 1/3 of a stop down would be better for the yellow plus overall of the image?

    I think i'd crop it much closer - from the left and top. That would put the focus much more on the bird and yet still tell the story. JR

    Mital ,no flash was used.

    Thanks for the comments and interesting observations : the yellows were much brighter originally and I did tone them down.It seems from your and Danny's comments that I could have toned down even more.
