    Default Red Squirrel - Finland

Whilst photographing birds at a feeding station in Finland, I noticed this Red Squirrel appear, gathering the fallen seeds. The ground covering and background shown are mainly a mat of discarded sunflower husks.

    Canon 1DMK4, 500mm, f6.3, 1/200 ISO800.

    C&C welcome.

Hey Austin, perfect low perspective, and I like the feeding behaviour. Excellent detail, and the little guy pops so well from the BG.

I echo Stuart's comments with one addition, I would have liked to see more of the tail.

Austin - I also agree with Stuart. I'm not usually a fan of squirrel shots but this one pops quite nicely.

Getting low and limiting DOF helped to create a soft BG and OOF FG. You can't even tell he is at a feeder. Good positioning of the head and body in relation to the camera position.
