Jim, I'm seeing a lot of grain-not sure if that is intentional. The color looks strong. I do wish for more of a head turn. Nice looking eye. Jim, Did you just juice the colors or did you do some other processing?:)
Thanks Denise, I didn't do any noise reduction and using ISO 200 along with the crop made it like that so I guess you could say it was intentional.:) I used a control point and color picker in NX 2 to make it blue. Playing with that part of the software is new to me, but I'm having some fun with it. I was sure the head angle and crop police would nail me...but my wife liked it so that made me happy:D

Hi Jim, I like your nice blue color and the cloudy background. Was this a large crop? Seems to be some lost resolution. I would probably add some saturation to the crown area to make it stand out and perhaps to the long feather on the head also. I like your rendition, and that little bit of head turn would have made it stronger.

Thanks for the suggestions Kerry! It's about a 50% crop. I don't do much serious bird shooting but prefer working on other small critters and wildflowers when I go out shooting.
Nice image, Jim
I would add a little canvas to the left side if it were mine, but ...
Jim, I like the blue you've got there and I love YCNH. Nice job.:)

The blue fits the theme...agree with a little more canvas on left and I'd run NR on eyeand bill. Thanks for sharing
