I was in England for 2 weeks recently, and had the opportunity to do some bird photography between family activities. Here is a bird in flight at Chew Valley Lake, Somerset. Comments welcome, particularly re: the wing angle.

Some say it's either the fully up or the fully down wing position that's the best. So, I think the wing position looks good. Like the details and sharpness.

HI - Wing position looks good - Flying slightly away from you though - head angled a little away.
Seeing either noise in the BG or artefacts of some description.
    Exposure looks good.
Looking forward to seeing more :)

Richard, I agree with comments above, like the wing position, exposure good and sharpness great. Would liked to have a bit more direct eye contact but you can never get everything. Agree with Lance - looks like a bit of noise in the BG. I would do some luminence smooting in LR3 before sharpening.

I love these birds, the are an elegant species, well elegant compared to the Great Black Backed Gull or even the Herring Gull.

Good job with the focus. Wing position is good but fully raised would have been better. The bird seems to be slightly angling away from you but the head is turned away even more; not the best situation :)

Love the wing position and sharpness....HA does not bother me much!....Only the noise is a problem for me..Nik's Define 2.0 is what i would recommend but there are many other noise reduction programs
