I made this photo today during a mid-day warbler extravaganza. I have never seen so many in one spot. This one for me is a lifer, so I was really happy to get this considering he stayed still for about 1-2 seconds at a time. It took well over a half hour and about 40 frames to get one that was clean. I did clone out a few leaves on this to clean it some more. Not sure if the crop is too tight or not? Fun day.

Sweet pose and EXP with a good head angle. I wish the the greys and greens in the BKGR were reversed. I like the bird's grip on the branch. I would lose the thin branch through the tail. In spite of ISO 800 and f/8 there are those who will wish for the tail to be sharper and I could not argue with them.

Bryan, Great shot. Agree with Artie about the lower branch. Good exposure with better beamer. Would hav ebeen nice to have tail in focus but getting a photo like this of a lifer is such a rush.

I wish Warblers over here were as colourfull as this one. Most are olive brown maybe with an eyestripe and often **** to identify:)

    Byran:

    Nice to get a lifer!
I think the crop is OK.
My first impression, before reading the comments, was about the brightness in the BG below, that it is too bright there.
Artie's comment about reversing the BG colors is interesting, as I think our brain wants the 'sky' to be above.
I might try lowering the brightness of the lower background to see how it looks.

    Congrats on the lifer!

    bryan,
this is special image as i just loved the image. started to focus on some warblers and song birds i find warblers are too difficult here as the kind of habitat here they have are totally dense bushes and getting such frame is just like daydreaming except change the entire frame in PS :)

    just awesome image man. congrats

Agree that these are tough bird to photograph as they are so hyperactive! Great to read that is a lifer for you! love the tiny feet and clean BG. Nice back pose.

The small fast birds are a real challenge. You did a great job here capturing the warbler in the open!

Hey Bryan, congrats on the lifer...that always makes it that much more special when out photographing!

Good job on this guy, I love the comp, and heck I even like that thin twig:) I thought there was a bit too much blue on the cap and wings so I completely removed the saturation in the blue and cyan channels, then darkened the cap a bit via the burn tool. Hope you like...
