    Andrew:

Great elevation on his wing flap, nice sense of action with wing blur, drops a plus. I like the subtle browns in the water which go well with the birds coloration.
Well seen, and hope you have as much luck with the otters!

    Cheers

Hey Andrew, Very sweet. I love the swept back wings and the nice light. Parts of the bird look a tad over-sharpened and the pupil could use some Eye Doctor work.

Thanks for your comments & suggestions.
Myer, here is the URL for the one otter pic that I posted. http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ighlight=otter
I was less successful than I had hoped because of the direction of the light.

Like the blurred wings and stopped motion for the rest of the bird. You caught him when it appears he is standing on the water.

I like the motion captured in the wings and the falling water drops really a very nice shot.

I agree with the above, but would have used a little faster shutter speed. Great light, timing, and composition. Perhaps Arty could be a little more specific about improving the eye.

Hi Hal, In the JPEG here the highlight looks very large as compared to the size of the pupil. Working really large (especially on the master file) one could first use the clone stamp to reduce the size of the highlight, and then if necessary, darken the pupil a bit with a Quick Mask and a Curves on a layer adjustment. Eye Doctor techniques are covered in detail in Digital Basics.

YAW Hal. I meant to mention that if this were mine I would do some work on the specular highlights on the bill.
