    Default Canon 7D Battery Grip

I want a battery grip for my 7D but am a bit put off by Canon's price ($180). Adorama features a Flash Point grip for about $75 and B & H has a Zeikos grip for about the same price. They look very similar from the pictures. Reviews seem positive for these alternatives. Any experience or recommendations out there?/

    Thanks - roger

Reasons for getting one.---If you use a 600mm telephoto or perhaps a 500mm helps balance out the setup and not have to fight the frontal weight of the large lens.
Do not know of the quality of the other brands.

I went with the Canon grip for both of my 7D bodies. When shooting the big lenses with IS, fast frame rate, and AF the grip with two batteries gives much longer in use time before you need to change out the batteries. I learned a long time ago to stay with branded batteries and grips, less failures, better quality and service in country if needed. You can find used Canon grips being sold for reasonable prices on Fred Miranda, POTN and other photo forums on the net on a frequent basis.

    Hope this helps,

    Jim
