A different view for BIF and I like it, love the sharpness and how the bird seem to glace at you. Just wish that the background is in lighter tone so I can make out the wing tip more clearly. Also like the idea of background showing a hint of a colony by the sea.

Great job holding the exposure. The dark wing parts are merging with the BG.

I liked this a lot more than I thought that I would when I saw the thumbnail. For the repost I cropped a bit off the bottom, cleaned up some sunlight rocks, and did a sloppy job of getting rid of a single gannet in the BKGR that merged with the BIF> Then a 70% Linear Burn on the brightest whites. I do like the gannets on the rocks habitat.

Yep, just a slightly lighter than black BG would have helped I think but looks fantastic as presented and Arthurs repost is a winner too.

All your suggestions are highly appreciated! Thank you very much, and Artie, thank you for the time you spent on this image.

Here is a repost taking your suggestions into account: lighter background, cloned some flares out, also cloned some gannets out. The flying gannet has been taken care of, too: the white feathers are less bright, the wingtips less dark.

    What do you think?

You did very well but I like the cleaner look of the lower left in my repost as the light areas there draw the eye.

You are right, that yellowish spots draw the eye. I wonder how many reposts are allowed? (just kidding ;-)

Reposts that continue to improve an image are always welcome. :) But do check all the changes that I made in that corner first.
