This was a print I did for a show. The Indigo Bunting has a painted look using Buzz Pro Simplify and other filters and painting out the background, and blue framing.

Thanks Mital. I found the background in Photoshop Elements, saved it, opened it in Photoshop and added a shape layer in Photoshop for the adornment.

Love the look and the colors but not a big fan of the border... The ORIG needed a bit more head turn towards you. Losing the one branch would be an option.

Judy, I think the border is nice as it conveys the idea of "songbird" but I could also see this with a smaller framing element. I like the indigo and your treatment of it. I would suggest lightening the area between the eye and the bill. Love the blue color!

    Nice image and application, Judy.

If it were mine I would crop it slightly so the main branch comes out of the corner of the frame. Also, while I like frames ;) I think this one overpowers the image. I would either tone down the color a little or reduce the size. But from one framer to another ... your image ... your vision! ;) :D

I decided to do a version without the musical matting. Mark, I couldn't crop it so the branch comes to the edge as there would be no room in front of the beak. In an ideal situation the branch would have cooperated :D Thanks again for all the comments and suggestions.

Judy, I like the original and think that the border is lovely. I also think you did a wonderful job with the filter. In the orig. I might try to get the perch all the way to the edge of the frame if it were mine.

Thanks Denise. I don't know that my Ps skills are up to stretching the branch to the corner! It might look like Pixel Bender twirl!

No problem with the branch, just a suggestion of my vision. I know what it is like not to get Mother Nature to cooperate when the shots are fired!!! Look at all those H.A. comments! :o ;) :D
