**Hey everyone, when you get a chance check out the "Sticky" thread here to vote for next month's project theme!**

Taken the same morning as my Black-bellied Plover posted a few days ago...more of the many flowers and vegetation growing where normally there is water. The "beach" really isn't so beach-like this year, but I like the settings this is offering...different than the typical shorebird on the sand/mud images we tend to usually get.

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @400mm, manual exposure (+2 stops, histogram checked), evaluative metering, 1/320s., f/6.3, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, ~80% FF.

Nice and sharp and the surroundings with the soft vegetation are great, Dan.

Beautiful image Daniel - I really like the light, pastel-like quality of the colours.

I might suggest cloning or cropping out that small, dark leaf(?) about 1/3 of the way up the left edge - I find my eyes keep going to it.

Thanks Artie. Cropping to just above my signature would work.

The image was taken Wednesday of last week: September 16th.

YAW Dan. Wow, that egg hatched late. That is a really freshly plumaged bird for mid-SEPT.

Excellent shot Daniel nice low angle and the habitat really adds a very nice touch to this image.
