    Default Sandhill Cranes

I went out with my friend Maxis to get some Sandhill Crane shots. When I was getting ready to shoot this series, I had this compo in mind with the crane in the back with the same exact pose to show some "parallelism". Of course, nature do not always cooperate:o
So this is what I got.

What do you think? Keep or delete? Crop? This is a full fame shot out of the camera.

    Camera Nikon D700
    Exposure 0.004 sec (1/250)
    Aperture f/5.6
    Focal Length 400 mm
    ISO Speed 800
    Exposure Bias 0 EV
    Flash On, Return detected

    Very nice image Troy!

I would definitively keep it! my only suggestion would be to ''fix'' the eye since it looks over flashed.

    Juan,
You mean make it a bit darker?

Hi Troy! Even w/o the parallesim you were seeking I still like the shot. The eye doesn't bother me and I like the beak! The bg being muted looks good!

Hi Troy - Nice one - Like it. The BG looks good and sets the birds off nicely. I would fix the eye - agree it looks just a little over flashed.
A different composition as you mention - but IMHO still works dues to the strong shapes being formed by the bodies of the birds.
    Good show :)

Juan- will do, thanks for pointing out to me.
Bob and Lance, thank you. I was not sure if it is worth keeping this shot.

Somehow I really like the the OOF crane in the background, sort of give me the painting feeling. More parallel between the birds would be nice but I would keep this.

I like the image, Troy, agree with the comment regarding the eye, and would also suggest cloning out
the black to the left and right of the legs. I don't know what that is, but it doesn't appear to be from either bird
and I find it distracting from what would otherwise be a clean comp in the lower right corner. Congrats!
