Nice job on the bird but tight in the back to eliminate the second bird (as I am sure that you know) :) Good EXP and head angle but I am not a big fan of rotted tree trunk habitat :)

Rob, I find parts of the plumage smooth and lacking detail...did you run NR or do some other post-processing there? I also find there is a magenta cast to the image. Colourful individual, with some rich tones in the browns. Good subtle head turn. from the duck.
Hi Dan, After reading your critique I went back to my NEF file and found as you had observed, a definite file degradation on the pict submitted. I then tried to replicate my work flow to see what happened. As you suspected, I had carelessly used a Noise remover by brush on the file. As for the magenta cast - I will have to work on that.
