The original of this image I posted in Macro a few months back. I applied a Glowing Edges filter and then added the face back in another layer....
It's wild, the chompers these little Green Tiger Beetles have...I recently took some images of another type and they all have these jaws...pity any fool insect that gets in there way

Now that's a scary sight! The glowing edges works well on this one.

Paul, a great combination of filters. I love the head revealed. It looks like a giant bug on top of a volcano:)

Interesting bug, but for some reason this one does not float my boat, at least very far down the stream. Not sure why though even after giving it some thought.

Paul, I like it. The glowing edges and the color of the head is great. I also like those chompers! The shadow underneath was it a reflection? Either way it is interesting to the image IMO. I think it's just a bit tight on the sides.:)

Artie, I feel that way about lots of images, we like what we like and vice versa :). Denise, the shadow is just that as you can see from original

Hey Paul, I think this is pretty interesting. I like the glowing edges and the dark background. I would suggest a little bit of sharpening to bring out the details and a crop from the bottom to eliminate the black blobs. :)

Fantastic original image, Paul. I like the dark bg and the glowing edges. Another alternative would be to reduce the opacity of the original face in a layer so as to have some of the effect on the filtered face.

    Welcome home Paul.

Neat image and application. Might look nice in a Fract? But ... as they say ... ;) :D
