Sharp, good EXP, and nicely done despite a less than ideal sun angle and relatively harsh light. I would get rid of the white shell/pebble on the edge of the shadow. I think that Skylark might be correct. Can you verify Sky lark? Later and love, artie

What appeals to me in this one is the alertness and posture of the bird.....good point IMO to remove the little pebble.
    Thanks for sharing this one

I agree to remove the pebble.

according to this database it should be Sky Lark.

The British Ornithologists Union have this species listed as Sky Lark & this has been the case back to 2000 at least. It is worth noting that 2 top European bird guides published in 1992 & 1999 both show it as Skylark! However, just noticed that Sibley's guide (published in 2000) has it captioned as Sky Lark.

Not an easy bird to get by any means. A very nice capture & minor nits mentioned.

Lovely pose and BG. I agree with Artie about the light angle, but seeing that this is a very hard subjectto photograph I think it is fine here! I have spend one year doing research on this beautiful bird and haven't got anything that comes close to a shot like this. Well done!
