    Default Snowy Egret

A recent capture from the Gilbert Riparian Preserve, Arizona. This fella had just challenged another Snowy.

    Exif: 1/500", f10, ISO 200, 600mm, Manual mode.

    Comment and criticism welcome.

Very nice light and good looking bird. I love it when they fluff up like that! You might consider cloning that stray feather just behind and below the tail. Judging by the ripples underneath, I think he's rotated just a touch CCW I really like this image.

Thanks Ian for the feedback - I had not even spotted that feather and I think you are right about the rotation. I just had a look at your great smugmug images - it looks like we shoot in some of the same places.

Hi Alexander - love the ruffled look and the sweet light - Ian appears to be correct about the CW rotation.
Might have considered upping the ISO a little to give a bit of safety margin as far as SS goes.
Id run a little NR on the BG.
    Nice!

    Hello Alexander,
very nice picture! The only thing I would wish for is a lower perspective.
    Regards
    Andreas.
