    HI

Here's one from me I shot together with Glenn. It was so much fun and we really lucked out and got the Canvasbacks on this awesome pond. :)

Just stunning Jan! Great low angle, Beautiful water colour as well. If I were to try and find a nit, it would be to tone down the deep blues immediately in front and behind him. But that is minor.

Wonderful light, BKGR, and COMP. The raggedy quality of the head feathers in front of the eye are a shame--they might look that way because they are wet... Not sure. Later and love, artie

Great image Jan. It was fun shooting together. In this case, and for this species I dont mind the wet/muddy feathers. Its just indicative of their feeding behaviour.

Very nice deja vu after seeing Glenn's version. I like it as is. Great angle, details, BG and the blue wavelet adds to it.

I am glad that you guys all like the muddy face. And I have zip on this species, but if it were mine I would be crying for the lack of a dry bird. later and love, artie

I have a lot of dry ones, too. Like Glenn said, the muddy face shows their feeding behavior. When they come up after diving they have a really muddy face. Seems that they put their whole beak and face into the mud on the ground. It took this guy a long time to get clean again...however, i agree in most other casesthat muddy wet faces are not good....here i don' t mind it and I posted this one because of the nice pose and blue water in front.

Great shot, Jan. Muddy face doesn't worry me as an illustration of behavior. A dry face would no doubt be prettier

Very nice image. I like it as presented. Shows just another facet - there are days in birds' life when its beak/head can get muddied while in pursuit of food. Why not present that aspect too...
