    same data f5.6 1/2000, ISO 400, CANON 40d 100-400@ 400

    Hi Richard - no mention of exposure compensation here - judging by the look of it I am guessing this is quite a large crop and the sky has been removed after the fact, A little noise present in the darker area's would also seem to indicate a little shadow/highlight has been used - original under exposed??
    Looks quite contrasty and lacking in fine feather detail - depending on camera and light conditions but would expect to see this at least +2EV - Getting things as close as possible in camera will always yield better end results.
    Good HA and eye contact - would have wished for a little more separation between the head and the far wing.

    0 Ev agree should have been at least +2
    weirdly the sky was not removed but it does look that way!
    back then I was on one shot :)
