    Though you wing position shows both upper and lower wing detail. A few flaps after this one might ahve been at a better angle to you. I felt the image was kind of dark and the blues affected by some magenta color cast. I reposted with the following corrections in PSCS5,


    Levels - Adjusted mid-tone slider to lighten image, set at 1.5.
    Curves - Linear Contrast preset; which is a mild s-curve.
    Hue/Saturation - reduce red and cyan a lot, magenta and blue a little.
    Selective color - remove black from the blue channel and added black to black & Neutral channels

    I wanted to brighten the image up, make the sky more attractive and removed the reddish color cast that was affecting the blues some. The hot spot on the neck is not blown but no detail. Typical problem with direct sun on a BIF like this.

    Good critique, rework, and explanation by Robert. It would be worth revisiting the raw file for those whites as sometimes there just may be details in there waiting to be discovered...
