After seeing a weather report that indicated overcast conditions at the Texas City Dike, I headed down there this afternoon. Caught brown pelicans landing on pilings that are all that remains after Hurricane Ike destroyed the fishing pier that once existed at the end of the Dike. comments and critique welcomed. regards~Bill

Bill, I like the softer color tones and the "less contrasty" look here. I love the composition and my only wish is that the one Pelicans tail end were not hidden behind the piling. But it is certainly not a deal killer. I really like the elegant landing pose by the one Pelican. Great resting poses also.

As always William, you continue to amaze me with your skills. The timing to capture the inflight pelican at just the right position is top notch. PP is impeccable. Now i sound like I'm gushing, but I am a huge fan. My only thought for consideration, and it's trivial, is the horizon lined up directly with the crossbrace of the pier, although I'm not sure if higher or lower would be any better. Thanks for the inspiration.

Very nice image and application, Bill ... as usual! ;)

Like the feel of this. While I normally would go for more contrast, this seems perfect for this image. Nice one!

Very nice, Bill. Great composition. I love the various pelican poses, especially the one landing! The low contrast look I think is just right for this image. Well done.

I like the soft look. Nice fract work! You caught the in-coming pelican perfectly!

Bill, I like the action capture and the colors in this one. Looks like this is the place for napping! I like the way the inner two pelicans are looking at each other.
