Default Birds in Habitat: Black-bellied Whistling Duck

Perhaps a bit too much habitat, but I felt the peek-a-boo nature of the image spoke well to the BBWD's whimsical nature. This particular example left a tree and disappeared in the vegetation. I had to track the rustling vegetation to capture the peek. I always enjoy observing them.

Shot near wide-open to best throw the FG and BG OOF.

This is classic habitat for Whistling Ducks. I really like it as the bill just pops off the page.

Very nice David!! I like the feel of this one. Good job tracking this fellow, and well thought out to use a wide open aperture...a thinking photographer's image! I you wish you could eliminate the tiny shadow cast on the duck's face.

I like the rule of thirds comp. Losing the shadow would be easy.
