    Early morning light in the Pilanesberg nature reserve. Usually on this this perch, we would see a kingfisher beating his fish - notice all the left over scales. Something different from one of my favourate birding spots.

    Stu, terrirific iridescence captured.....and about the BG..well...what can be said? stunning. eye color matching with the color in BG is superb stuff.

    Stuart, Beautiful, beautiful BG colors, nice pose and I like the explanation of the perch.

    Lovely pose and BG, Stu. Did you do any BG blurring? - the far end of the perch looks a little funky.

    Thanks Tony. I can see where you mean. I processed this a while ago, but didnt have to do any thing to the BG. It doesnt look right does it. ( drove past Rigel Ave this afternoon - brought back memories ;) )

    Man, the bird's plumage against the BG's warm tones is fabulous. Love the feet and the eye! Head maybe turned a bit too much - I wonder if the light caught the lower part of face nicely when turned less. Awesome image in any case.
