Time to say hello and post my first photo. I'll add it later to the "eager to learn" forum - just to play safe ; )
As my introduction says, I'm expatriate Finn living in Frozen Tundra, a place also known as Wisconsin, USA. I was a keen birder (more so than a photographer) while still living in Europe and after moving over here in 2003, I found a lot of (bad) excuses to stop birding and photographing them. Now after nearly 8 years of hibernation I'm slowly catching up again, noticing that I'm actually more and more interested about photographing birds nowadays, than just watching them. Cheers,
Mikko, welcome to BPN! I'm sure I'll see your images over in the ETL forum so I'll keep an eye out. Let me know if there's anything you need or if you have any questions.
I started out as a birder myself, and found that I have learned much more about birds while photographing them. Observing, studying, and photographing a single individual for an hour is much more rewarding than getting a short glimpse of one to check off a list (although I still get excited at simply glimpsing rarities and odd behaviour):).
