Not sure, but anyway, combined this butterfly with a sunflower from the Pike's Market in Seattle for a bit of fun.

Hazel, We are definitely accepting BF's as bugs here in OOTB! You did a great job with the merge. I would add some selective sharpening and maybe a little "pinch" with the "pinch" filter to the image. Go to FILTER> DISTORT>PINCH. It should bring the BF into the flower a bit more. I would also clone in some green to fill the white area at the top as it caught my eye. :) Nicely done.

Great BUG!! Love the vibrant BF and sunflower, Hazel. You may want to evict the spot on edge of ULC. Would be nice to see a pinched version if you choose . Nice job matching the drop shadow. :)

Hii Hazel, it certainly does count and it's a very nice one at that! I love these colors together and I agree that the shadow of the butterfly is very well done. A little bit of quick mask work on the spots Denise mentioned will put this one over the top for me.

Very nice composite and I like the bold colors. The shadow looks very realistic.

repost: tried your suggestions. Thanks. couldn't do too strong a pinch or it distorted too much.

Hazel, Just a little less of the pinch. For that filter a little goes a long way.:)

yes, you're right. this is a new filter for me to use. I can see lots of ways it could come in handy. but a little does go a long way. this is the Final version.

Hazel, I used a very little-just enough to move the BF w/o moving the sunflower, I cloned some leaves into the upper spot and selectively sharpened it a bit. The filter does take some getting use to but it really can be an effective tool so I'm glad you are getting a chance to work w/ it.:)
