The original RAW file is about 6 years old. Every time I cleaned out my files I kept this one in the hope of someday doing something with it. I made it a B&W without any luck as well as trying some other things. Then along comes HDR and Photomatix. This is a single image "faux" HDR grunge. I think it is the best process for this otherwise un-usable image. Interested in your thoughts.

I can see why you're glad you saved it. The photomatix treatment really worked well for you, and it doesn't seem overdone to me. My only thought would be a very slight ccw rotation as the silo seems off a bit with the edge of the frame. I'm not real thrilled with the blue frame, just my thought. Very nice with great color and detail.

Joe, I really like this! The colors are wonderful. I wonder if you could pull out a tiny bit more detail in the trees. I like the composition very much and think you made the most of this image! Nicely done.:)

Very nice image and colors. Photomatrix did bring life back to the image. Instead of ccw rotation another option could be to use the transform->perspective PS to straighten the silo. TFS.

Neat HDR. Good save! I think Indranil has a good perpective solution, if you have enough canvas. Great overall effect. :)

Joe, I'm glad you kept it too and thanks for sharing it here. Photomatix did a great job with this and I like the treatment a lot. I especially like that splash of blue from the tractor and how it contrasts with the somewhat muted colors elsewhere. Goods suggestions above and I think a nice neutral frame like gray or black would be cool.

Agree with all that you should have kept it. Sometimes it takes a while to find just the right sweet spot for a photo. Agree with the blue border, though. Not quite right.

Thanks all for your kind and helpful comments/suggestions. I put the blue border in just to help offset the image from the page. I guess a black one would have worked just as well.
Denise , I brought some more detail into the trees in Vivesa and it helped a great deal. Thanks for the suggestion.

I love the look here. Can anyone explain the technique with single image HDR? As for the silo, it looks a bit crooked and so does the barn, but seemingly in different directions.... So maybe the buildings are the problem or may the photographer had too much too drink :)

Joe....i think this was a good save but the blue tractor seems to be just too richly colored for me...too unnatural. IMHO
