    You do great work from your blind Jon. Perch looks good except for the broken branch. Sharpness seems best on the near wing. A slight head turn towards the viewer would have been nice. I would consider removing the black lines in the ULC, and I would also explore the possibility of a vertical crop.

    Thanks Peter, the background is an out of focus pear tree, no Gaussian blur just Photoshop noise reduction.
    Doug, The broken perch is a nuisance in fact the broken bit was paler than that I patched it to make it look older. I could kick myself regards the dark lines I should have blended them. Regards orientation I think you are right, a portrait would have been better.
